Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chunks
  • Sea salt flakes for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325F and line a 9×5 or an 8×5 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and oil in the microwave or on the stove in a medium saucepan.
  3. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the melted butter and whisk until combined.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla, whisking to combine.
  5. Whisk in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chunks.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few wet crumbs.
  9. Let the brownies cool completely before slicing and serving.
